Eleva is a privately funded biotechnology company based in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Since its foundation in 1999, the company has developed a moss-based technology platform that enables the production of complex proteins for the treatment of various diseases, some of which are rare and underserved. In addition, Eleva has successfully completed a clinical trial with a moss-based biopharmaceutical and is planning the second clinical trial. IP Manager / Patent Manager (m/f/d)
50% part time, permanent, fully remote or hybrid What you should be excited about- As IP Manager at Eleva, you'll draft and refine patent applications with our external patent attorneys, ensuring that our innovations are fully protected and impactful.
- You'll lead patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments, making sure our developments are both protectable and compliant with industry standards.
- By strategically managing our patent portfolio, you'll help secure and maximize the value of our most important inventions.
- Acting as a vital link between our inventors and external patent attorneys, you'll ensure smooth communication and keep our filing and monitoring systems organized for easy access.
- As an ISO-certified company, we work according to quality guidelines, and you support your team in maintaining them meaningfully and effectively.
- You will work closely with the Director Business Development and may occasionally take on other responsibilities in the BD area, as we are a small and, above all, very supportive company, willing to assist each other when needed.
- You have a Master's degree (or higher) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field.
- With at least 2 years' experience in IP management, ideally in biotech or pharma, you'll be familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities of the industry.
- Your solid understanding of plant-based production systems and related fields gives you an edge in supporting our innovations.
- You're familiar with national and international patent regulations and have practical experience of working with external patent attorneys.
- You're precise, organised and fluent in both English and German, with a knack for handling complex information smoothly.

- We offer a permanent contract with 30 days holiday + 24th/31st December off.
- Your working hours will be 20 hours per week as 50% part-time employee, with flexible working hours (flexitime).
