The Institute for Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy, Georg-Speyer-Haus (GSH) in Frankfurt am Main, invites applications for a position as JUNIOR GROUP LEADER. The GSH is an academic non-profit research institute supported by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry for Sciences and Arts of the State of Hessen. The GSH is dedicated to basic and translational cancer research in the context of the tumor microenvironment and closely cooperates with the Goethe University Frankfurt and the University Hospital Frankfurt. It provides access to a broad variety of state-of the-art core facilities, an exceptional scientific environment with excellent opportunities of clinical translation. The GSH is a partner in the LOEWE Center Frankfurt Cancer Institute (FCI) to elucidate molecular mechanisms of tumor pathogenesis and therapy response to develop innovative targeted therapies and a partner site in the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK). Junior Group Leader (m/f/d) Tumor Biology We are looking for a scientist with proven experience and outstanding research performance on topics with specific focus on the intricate role of the tumor microenvironment in the context of cancer stem cells, cancer systems biology, personalised cancer medicine, translational therapeutics and overcoming therapy resistance, tumor immunology and immunotherapy, invasion and metastasis. Prerequisite for the application is a university degree and doctoral degree. The applicant is expected to have an excellent scientific record with international publication performance, a high degree of scientific commitment and to acquire competitive national and international third-party research funding. In addition, the applicant is expected to participate in the interdisciplinary structure of the FCI and to add a high level of cooperation with all working groups of the FCI, especially in the interdisciplinary clinical translation programs.
