Professional and personal requirements

You have successfully completed a university degree in materials science, chemistry or similar, are interested in materials research and would like to gain further qualifications with a doctorate.
If you meet the following requirements, we look forward to receiving your application:
Very good knowledge in the field of nanomaterials, and a good understanding of materials science
Enthusiasm for working in research and skillful handling of complex systems and equipment
Great care, independence and reliability
Self-organization skills, ability to work in a team and good communication skills
Very good English language skills (oral and written)
Very good written expression

The following are also desirable
  • Knowledge of laser material processing and optics
  • Experience in scanning electron microscopy and associated sample preparation
  • German language skills
Responsibilities and duties

You will be remployed to work independently on a sub-research project in the field of developing new nanoparticle-modified powder materials for additive manufacturing. This includes the production of metallic and ceramic nanoparticles by means of laser ablation in liquids, processing into composites for 3D printing and comprehensive analytics. Your work therefore includes the use of complex analytical equipment at a research partner in Düsseldorf.
You will share responsibility for the maintenance of laboratory equipment, take on organizational tasks, regularly attend meetings and exchange information with partners.
