Job description
LEAD COMPLETIONS ENGINEER
Based onshore in Aberdeen, reporting to the Head of Well Engineering, UK.
Position Summary
Provision of completion design, planning, programming and operations management across Client operated portfolio, promoting techniques and strategies that optimise asset value and enhance life of
well performance. Targets efforts to ensure that all wells are designed and delivered in accordance with local
statutory requirements and Client corporate policies, standards and procedures, whilst driving
excellence in Health, Safety and Environmental performance, technological innovation and continuous
performance improvement. Mentoring of Completion Engineers and Completions Supervisors
Main Duties & Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
â Prepare all well completions, workover and well-service programmes in compliance with local
statutory requirements and Client corporate policies, standards and procedures.
â Manage the well planning process as per the Well Delivery Process (WDP) and ensure compliance.
â Prepare scopes of work and appropriate specifications for procurement of Client equipment and services.
â Technical lead for assigned contracts. Responsible for managing the agreed relationship with
service providers and in setting the KPIs with the Contract Owner and C&P Specialist
â Prepare scoping, budgetary and AFE level completion costs. Monitor field costs and analyse
variances.
â Monitor and measure performance against expectations. Analyse variances and act as a focal point
for lessons learned.
â Effective liaison and communication with the subsurface and drilling & wells management teams.
â Implementation of lessons learned system and championing of all performance improvement
initiatives applicable to well completions performance.
â Maintenance and up-dating of completions, workover and well-services documentation and data.
â Supervise the deployment of Completions Supervisors both offshore and onshore.
â Implementation of additional processes/procedures applicable to completion operation
improvement.
â Mentoring of Completion Engineers and Completions Supervisors.
â Emergency Response delegate.

â Application of functional specifications to deliver optimum completion designs
â Ensure that completions operations meet agreed budget and objectives.
â Optimise performance where possible by appropriate application of new technology.
â Accurate and timely reporting of all completions activities.
â Maintenance of end of well records, lessons learned and complete well files.
â Encourage good, open communications with contractors, promoting a culture of involvement and

Compliance with well examination process
Required Competences/ Qualifications / Experience / Profile
â Demonstrated capacity of team supervision and analytical competence
â Bachelor's degree in Drilling Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or
similar.
â HPHT experience is desired.
â Extensive relevant experience in completion, well test, workover engineering and site supervision.
Must be a competent practitioner in accordance with CASMAX competency profile
â IWCF Well Control Certification
