Lead Workshop Technician
Based in Aberdeen (AB12), UK
Salary is Negotiable DOE
As a Lead Workshop Technician you are employed to strip, inspect, and rebuild various mechanical equipment and associated components, and provide support to the Workshop Manager and Operations Team, to ensure smooth and effective running of the Projects/jobs, ensuring all targets are achieved.
This is a senior role, with a focus on oilfield drilling equipment (including top drives) and there may be the opportunity to go offshore for projects. Experience in drilling and rotating equipment, agricultural equipment would be helpful too.
â Strip, inspect and rebuild of various mechanical equipment and associated components.
â Ensure all reporting is precise, detailed and completed to set standards.
â Correctly identify parts requirements and ensure all details are accurate.
â Ensure that all components and parts for a given project are identified and stored in the correct manner.
â Maintain all associated paperwork and systems as required.
â Read and interpret P&ID drawings, engineering drawings and schematics to assist in work procedures.
â Accurately complete work routers and any additional paperwork in a timely manner.
â Liaise with Warehouse Coordinator to ensure all equipment is photographed, tagged and recorded on arrival and throughout scope.
â Assist and develop workshop colleagues to progress their knowledge and expertise.
â Reporting of any faulty equipment, ensuring it is removed from service, tagged as such and repaired in a timely manner.
â Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical equipment.
â Communicate daily with Workshop Manager and Operations Team as and when required.
â Provide technical expertise to diagnose, analyse and rectify faults.
â Perform housekeeping duties daily and maintain cleanliness of Workshop, yard, or work site.
â Always comply with HS&E policies and procedures, contributing as required in Toolbox Talks etc.
â Report all accidents and incidents to supervisor immediately.

Experience, Competence, Skills & Knowledge (Essential):
â Time Served mechanic, with 5 years' experience in this role.
â IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
â Excellent Organisational and Planning skills
â Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
â Ability to work under pressure and to delivery schedules
â Attention to detail and accuracy
â Problem solving skills
â Ability to work on own initiative
â Flexible and motivated.
â Valid driving licence.
â Special Licences may be required to operate certain vehicles.
