Mechanical Pre-Construction Managers - Award Winning MEP Contractor - Newtownabbey & Dundalk

Your new company
A UK leading multi award-winning building services contractor is currently seeking Mechanical Pre-Construction Managers to support their expanding pre-construction teams at their new premises in Newtownabbey and also in Dundalk, as a fundamental role in managing pre-construction processes and deliverables on multiple large scale projects throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, including decarbonisation, renewable energy, data centre, healthcare, commercial, high rise residential, educational, and airport projects.

Your new role

  • Assess project documents to define the project brief and scope for the pre-construction team.
  • Determine project requirements to establish a project delivery strategy and team tasks.
  • Lead pre-construction efforts, working with the design team, estimating department and other stakeholders to create project proposals.
  • Identify value engineering options and potential project risks, providing solutions through team workshops.
  • Guide the pre-construction team on processes and deliverables, focusing on programme delivery dates.
  • Collaborate with department coordinators and BIM teams to develop required documentation, 3D modelling and 2D drawings to assist with project delivery.
  • Coordinate with external consultants for project compliance and review deliverables across all disciplines.
  • Host client and internal project meetings to ensure project requirements are met and potential risks are addressed.
  • Assist site operations teams in delivering offsite construction and onsite installation.
  • Lead handover meetings to operations teams and prepare weekly status reports on pre-construction deliverables.
  • Monitor pre-construction activities, progress and quality.
  • Conduct occasional site appraisal surveys for new projects.

  • What you'll need to succeed
    Essential:
  • Solid background in building services with at least 5 years' experience in mechanical operations or contract management
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical systems for medium to large commercial projects.
  • Good understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes and coordination.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities and previous experience managing a team
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Packages - Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams.
  • Desirable:

  • A relevant third level qualification.
  • Knowledge of building services
