Job description

Are you a Telematics Engineer or Project Manager looking to join a leading Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer? Do you have a passion for future vehicle development? If so Expleo have the opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Telematics Project Engineers and Project Managers, on behalf of our globally successful Automotive OEM, based in Bedfordshire, on a contract basis. The successful Engineers and Project Managers will be responsible for the implementation of on-board Telematics systems, whilst collaborating with connected car design and test teams.

Responsibilities of the Telematics positions will include some of the following:

• Generation and release of TCU configuration data

• Managing suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery targets

• Coordination of in house and supplier TCU validation

• Project manage on board and off board connected car and infotainment teams

• Collaboration with Telematics Service Providers, ensuring their development schedules are aligned

• End to end management and delivery of new IT capability or enhancements through various phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

• Lead and manage highly complex projects with cross functional impact across a number of technical systems, business domains, divisions and third parties.

Background and experience required for the Telematics Engineer position:

• You will ideally be degree educated

• Experience of Telematics hardware, systems and knowledge of vehicle connectivity.

• Understanding of mobile network infrastructure and data transfer

• Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic architecture

• Experience of Project Management in the IT Industry

Knowledge of 5G technologies, non-European mobile networks, MQTT, End to End System architecture and an understanding in European Ecall regulations is desirable.
