Job description
Job Role: Shunt Operative - (Full-time and Permanent)
Pay Rate: £11.44ph PLUS a weekly shift premium of £89.25
Shift Pattern: Rotation of 12-hour day shifts (6.00am - 6.00pm) and night shifts (6.00pm - 6.00am). Working between 13 -16 shifts per month, depending upon the rotation. Opportunity for overtime at time and a half

- Ensure the smooth running of the shift in terms of waste removal, product moving between processes and in/out of the factory. The role is also to support the Waste Management strategy for the site
- Report any issues to the Shift Manager that affect SQD throughout the shift
- Maintain good housekeeping of the warehouse area and yard
- Ensure forklift trucks and equipment is maintained to a 'new like standard' - raising any Engineering T Cards when necessary
- To come forward with ideas and work with the Site team to continually improve the cell and process where required
- Ensure that consideration and good relations are maintained at all times
- Have the experience and knowledge of the cell to provide support and training to any new starters or personnel - as and when required
- Ensure all standard SOP's are adhered too
- Empty all bins and ensure the waste management system is followed
- Ensure all waste for recycling is loaded onto the trailer ready for collection. This includes items that are bailed and the cores. Communicate to Shift Manager when the trailer needs replacing
- Ensure all waste including scrap reels from Flexo that are for recycling are strapped correctly and placed on the trailer
- Wrap and strap any requirements from Shift Managers
- Keep waste ink area tidy in the yard and load waste ink which is taken away by J&G weekly
- Supply all glue lines with pallets plus take away empty pallets from all processes
- Keep pallets in the yard tidy
- Ensure Litho material is moved from the drop off point to the presses as what is required by the work to list
- Carry out box stock take daily by 1PM
- Fill the racks with full pallets of boxes that get delivered
- Tidy excess pallets laying around the site
- Any additional duties to meet the prevailing needs of the business
