Job description

Gap personnel Group, operating as an employment business, are currently looking to recruit a Store person for one of our well-established clients based in Stockport, SK8.

Pay £11.50 to £14.50 depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Goods In / Goods Out: Receive and verify deliveries and book items into stock using computer systems. Show a willingness to learn new processes and utilise technologies. Take responsibility for picking parts for spares and production orders and accurately book goods out of stock using SAP.
  • Packing Instruments and Spares: Securely pack instruments and spare parts to prevent damage during transit. Approach each task with a positive attitude and a passion for quality.
  • Shipping Parts for Spares Orders: Ensure the precise picking and timely shipping of parts for spares orders. Maintain a proactive approach to meeting shipping deadlines.
  • Arranging Shipments: Coordinate and arrange shipments, including preparing all necessary documentation. Be proactive in ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Stock Taking: Conduct regular stock takes, manage inventory levels, and ensure stock accuracy. Strive for continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety (H&S), Lifting Equipment & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Comply with all H&S regulations and ensure the proper use of lifting equipment and PPE. Maintain a safe working environment and be proactive in identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Maintain Work Area: Keep the packing and storage areas clean and organised, remaining positive.
  • Assist Team Members: Provide support to colleagues as needed to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Report Issues: Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with stock, packing, or shipments. Approach problem-solving with a proactive attitude.

• Ensure the accurate and efficient packing, picking, and shipping of instruments and spare parts.

• Maintain an organised and well-managed stock inventory.

• Provide reliable and timely support to the goods-in process and stock management activities.

• Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations, embodying Elementar core values: Growth Mindset, Positive Attitude, and Willingness to Learn.

Competence:

• Heavy Lifting: Ability to perform tasks that require repeated heavy lifting (within Health and Safety guidelines).• Computer Skills: Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g. SAP) and other relevant computer applications.

• Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail. • Accuracy: High level of accuracy in performing tasks whilst maintaining high standards.

Requirements:

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a stores or warehouse operative role is essential.

• Proven track record in inventory management, packing, and shipping

Expert knowledge:

• Knowledge of inventory management systems, SAP preferable but not essential

• Understanding of packing materials and methods to ensure safe transit.

• Demonstrates a positive attitude

Role is term to perm for the right candidate after 12 weeks.
