Job description

Retail business based in the Nantwich area requires an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper as a result of growth. Reporting to the FC this role is designed to work closely the whole finance department.

Duties of the role will include;

• Produce the Trial Balance at month end and report this back to the management team.
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting of journals (accruals prepayments, payroll)
• Issue intercompany recharge invoices
• Review posting of purchase invoices to ensure correct nominal coding
• Produce regular aged receivables and aged payables
• Bank reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Review accounting processes and practices to improve the efficiency of the finance function
• Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
• Assisting the Financial Controller and Senior Management Accountant on ad-hoc analysis

This is an excellent role for someone with experience in the above and looking for a role that will offer development to the right person. The ideal candidate for this role will be AAT qualified. This role is looking at approx 20 hours per week, flexi and is office based.
