Permanency & Pathways Team Social Worker

Up to £38.43 in line with ADSS pledge

An opportunity has become available for a temporary experienced Social Worker to work alongside the Permanency & Pathways team in Conwy Childrens Services Children, Families and Safeguarding Service. The assignment is for 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. There is an expectation that candidate lives locally or with in a commutable distance as the position is located in Conwy County. The worker will work from the office - Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, Conwy. The assignment is expected to last approximately 12 weeks with potential to be extended, pending the appointment of a permanent social worker. Pay rate is £38.43 per hour in line with the ADSS pledge.

The suitable candidate will be expected to deliver a high quality social work service to Children and their families who are deemed to have unmet needs and/or considered to be at risk of harm/significant harm. Social Workers are expected to provide support and to develop resilience and independence, ensuring that children and their families are at the centre of decision making about their lives and the outcomes that they want to achieve without compromising the child's safety. Discharge planning worker duties would be to progress cases under placement with parents to discharge of care order - developing clear planning under that platform to allow family time progression and return to the care of their care givers. Progress Special Guardianship Orders - complete paper work under section 1-3 and work jointly with fostering to be able to assess this effectively.

The key priorities for the role are, but not limited to:

• Assessment writing - placement with parents

• Care planning - attending LAC reviews and action planning

• Attending ADM - approval by head of service

• Special guardianship order - paper work section 1-3 of the document

• Court statement - attending CDWLA and LPM / discharge statement

• Relationship building - therapeutic working and rapport

• Working in partnership with professional

• Statutory requirement - attending visits in timescales / reviews Skills and qualifications required:

• Social Work Qualified, minimum 3 years post qualified plus technology & software skills

• Registered with Social Care Wales. If not already registered, they will need to register in order to work in Conwy County Borough Council.

• Team work & interpersonal skills

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

• A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
• A relevant Social Work Qualification
• Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
• Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
• 3 Years of referencing
• Driving license with access to a car
