Principal Accountabilities
Advanced 5-Axes CNC machinist with 5 years experience ideally on Hurco hardware. Ability to model in Autodesk Inventor CAD 3D and generate the programs by using Hypermill CAM software or equivelent.
Machining quality components in accordance with technical engineering drawings and specifications.
Estimate costing and timesacle of machined components.
Support the Production Team in areas of engineering, maintenace and breakdowns with guidance from the Production Manager.
Key Tasks
To develop CNC capability within the group including CAD/CAM operations for the manufacturing and research teams.
Responsibility to ensure incoming tooling is supplied to the issued design drawings.
Provide the operational link between manufacturing and engineering design support within the group and assist in the production of components for both the academic and commercial functions of the department.
Provide process training and allocate work to relevant team members on CNC machining techniques.
Proactive productive engineering support to ensure effective and efficient delivery of production processes.
Complete all required timesheets and job records as required by management.
Estimate material costs and machining times for potential contracts
To ensure incoming tooling is supplied to the design drawings.
To provide polishing and metrology tooling and support designs under the guidance of the Production Manager.
Special Features
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly in line with the commercial and research capacity requirements.
