Job description

This role sits within a state-of-the-art site where you will be operating within a high-care consumables production environment. You will predominantly be working as a front-line engineer to support and maintain installed assets for this area of the site working within.


In particular, youll be working to support our whey production which is part of our functional ingredients business, where we supply specialist whey (known as D90) to leading producers of infant formula, and exciting area of continued for Saputo.


SDUK's brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.


Shift pattern - 3-on/3-off (days and nights)


YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY

  • Delivering a range of preventative maintenance schedules and reactive engineering requirements.
  • Working with a range of machinery and instrumentation topics with pumps, motors, valves, agitators, etc.
  • Working with other engineering teams and production staff to plan and execute work.
  • Ensuring work is recorded and tracked via the maintenance system.
  • Prioritising workload, ensuring production awareness of timescales.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Undergoing supported training and development opportunities to progress, whilst looking to support other areas and gain broader experience.


YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE

  • A time served apprenticeship, NVQ, or NHC qualification.
  • Able to demonstrate deep mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills.
  • Someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to engineering, working in/outdoors.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience working within a food/FMCG production environment.
  • Able to work in a team, supporting others with their workload and development when required.
  • Comfortable working with different computer systems.
