Employment Advisor Supported Internships

Location: Workington
Salary: £13.89 per hour rising to £14.31 per hour after 6-month probation & £14.73 per hour based upon completion of qualification.
Contract: Part time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (Term Time Only)

Term Time Only

Term Time Only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
• Weekly hours x Number of Teaching Weeks (36 Weeks)
• Pro rata annual leave entitlement and bank holidays
• 10 inset days per year

The total hours as above will be divided into 12 equal monthly salary payments which you will receive monthly.

Employment Advisor The Role:

You will be based at the Lakes College in Workington. Experience is not required as full training is provided. This is a unique role with no two days the same, working across a wide range of host employment & learning settings.

This exciting opportunity working on our Supported Internships programme will provide you with a varied and interesting role to work as a part of an award-winning team and will give you job satisfaction that most other work cannot.

As the line manager of a team of Job Coaches based in Kendal, you will deliver employability skills sessions, arrange employer visits, work with local employers to identify job roles, identify tasks in line with job descriptions to secure long term work placements, and help individuals to identify skills, qualifications and job matching in areas within the host employers.

Employment Advisor Key Tasks:

• Maintain accurate records, assessments, EHCP reviews and lead termly review meetings.
• Liaise with Educational Health and Care co-ordinators.
• Lead on access to work applications and claims for each learner.
• Work with the job coaches and learners to identify support needs, develop and implement support strategies.
• Support learners to progress with their independence and look at paid role opportunities.
