Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is interested in a NIGHTS role who can take ownership of a host of reactive and planned maintenance whilst keeping safety at the forefront of everything you do?

At PAM UK we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to work permanent nights, being responsible for installing, restoring, repairing, improving, and maintaining our plant and equipment.

This Maintenance Engineer will be a part of the Engineering Team. We're implementing a permanent night shift and our maintenance engineer will be solely responsible for all engineering activity - so you need to be confident in your abilities to take ownership of issues when they arise and find solutions. We're a traditional site so there's lots to keep you busy.

THIS IS A PERMANENT NIGHTS ROLE, WORKING MONDAY TO THURSDAY 39 HOURS PER WEEK.

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds) & experience of maintaining machinery that is 30+ years old. Some electrical experience an advantage to aid problem solving.
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-motivated, enjoys keeping busy
  • Strong safety ethic. Good understanding of safety protocols and behaviours.
  • Ability to root cause problems and affect a safe solution to keep our production lines going.
  • Experience in a similar heavy engineering, fabricating environment.
  • Experience of maintaining welding, lathes and other similar machinery

What you will be doing:

  • Completing of routine maintenance tasks scheduled in the department's activity plan
  • Use own initiative to rectify situations and provide solutions or, whether this can or cannot be done, notify the Maintenance Lead.
  • Installation of plant and associated equipment
  • Determine the root cause of failures and identify actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Take an active role in maintenance projects as requested.
  • Assist in the reduction of plant downtime
  • Able to identify hazards and implement control measures when defining safe methods of work
