Job description

Our client, provides innovative engineering solutions in sectors such as Gas Turbines, Renewables, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, and Waste-2-X. As they continue to expand and evolve, they re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Project Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
As an Assistant Project Engineer, you will be supporting the Head of Projects in overseeing projects from concept through to commissioning. You will work closely with clients and the supply chain, ensuring smooth project execution, risk management, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Oversee the lifecycle of projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Client Engagement: Liaise with clients on commercial, engineering, and production matters, ensuring strong relationships and customer satisfaction.

Supply Chain Development: Build and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring smooth operations and cost-efficiency.

Risk Management: Take a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks, ensuring compliance with international laws and regulations.

Reporting & Documentation: Produce progress reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely submission of contractual documents.

Continuous Improvement: Drive business growth through innovation and the development of best practices.

About You:
We are seeking a candidate who is organised, forward-thinking, and a natural problem-solver. You'll have the chance to manage a range of projects, and your role will be key in driving our clients commitment to delivering world-class energy solutions.

What You ll Need:

  • Essential:
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and report writing
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Business, Engineering, or Manufacturing Diploma (or equivalent)
  • UK driving licence and ability to travel within the UK and overseas
  • Desirable:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in energy sectors (Gas Turbines, Renewables, etc.)
  • Knowledge of fabricated systems, large, manufactured products, or experience in expediting
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field (preferably 2:1 or above)
