PART-TIME / RELIEF VAN DRIVER WANTED
Location: Blandford Forum

We are seeking a Part-Time/Relief Van Driver to join our team on behalf of an established client in the Blandford Forum area. For over 30 years, they have been cooking and delivering delicious frozen meals to their loyal customers.

This role is ideal for individuals looking for ad hoc work, with shifts provided a month in advance and additional cover for sickness as needed. You will need to be flexible and reliable, working a minimum of 193 days a year.

Please note: Due to the client's location, own transport is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a company ambassador, delivering exceptional service at all times.
  • Ensure timely deliveries according to the route plan and customers' designated time slots.
  • Support team members to maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Conduct pre-shift van inspections, checking oil, water, tyres, and overall safety.
  • Keep the van clean and refuel when necessary-presentation matters.
  • Report any discrepancies or delays to the office promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Handle cash accurately, ensuring rounds are cashed up correctly at the end of each day.
  • Maintain clear and organised paperwork to support office administration.

Essential Qualifications and Personal Qualities

  • Preferred experience in a multi-drop delivery role with a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong knowledge of the Dorset area and surrounding villages (postcodes: BA8, BA20, BA21, BA22, BH19, BH20, DT1, DT2, DT3, DT4, DT5, DT6, DT7, DT8, DT9, DT10, DT11, EX12, EX13, EX24, SP7, SP8, TA13-TA20).
  • Basic car maintenance skills (e.g., topping up fluids, changing bulbs or tyres).
  • A flexible attitude to cover emergencies.
  • Familiarity with PCs and IT equipment.
  • A team player with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (manual vehicles) with no endorsements.
  • Within a 30-minute commute of DT11 7UZ.
  • Numerate and literate, with secondary education completed (GCSEs or equivalent).

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible shifts between 07:00 and 17:00 (occasional extended hours due to unforeseen circumstances).
  • Up to 40 hours per week.

Pay Rate

  • 12 per hour
