Job Title: Senior Housing Officer

Location: Dorchester

Contract Type: Temporary

Salary: 19.00 - 25.00 per hour

About the Role

The Senior Housing Officer will lead the housing supply team, managing owned, leased, and managed properties. Key tasks include ensuring compliance with leases, resolving breaches, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the housing supply team, ensuring effective onboarding and management of properties.
  • Ensure compliance with leases and management agreements, taking enforcement action where necessary.
  • Monitor KPIs, conduct staff appraisals, and address performance or compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver a high-quality housing service.
  • Handle complex lease and tenancy cases, providing guidance and support to Housing Officers.
  • Conduct rent reviews, lease renewals, and ensure rental income is monitored for managed properties.
  • Represent the housing service in meetings, court proceedings, and respond to FOI and member enquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in housing management and lease compliance.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service focus.

This role is subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm

Pay: 19.00- 25.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.00 per week Education:

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Housing: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Dorchester
