Job description

Foreman, Site Manager, Joinery, Fit Out, Construction, Working Foreman

Your new company
Hays Belfast is recruiting a Working Foreman on behalf of a major provider of fit-out services across the U.K. and Ireland. Your new company provides a comprehensive range of shop-fitting services, project management and fit-out services in the commercial and retail sectors. With multiple brand names and repeat clients as part of their portfolio, this contractor covers sites across the UK & Ireland, and has demonstrated excellent quality construction and attention to detail, that have all led to their growing reputation as one of the 'go to' fit out contractors to work for. With an increased workload and future work on the horizon for shop fitting schemes, your new employer seeks an experienced Working Foreman to continue to develop and establish their reputation on projects across the UK & Ireland.
Your new role:
You will be working alongside a team of construction professionals to deliver turnkey fit out projects from inception to delivery in cities throughout the UK and Ireland. Working as part of a management team, you'll be expected to oversee the progress of ongoing shop fit out and internal projects, primarily within the retail and hospitality sectors. As Foreman, some of your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing multiple trades across a fast-paced shop fits out environments.
  • Oversee the day-to-day direction of the entire project or a specific stage within it to ensure it meets quality expectations and programme deadlines.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is always maintained as well as adjusting timelines based on the project's progress, and regularly communicate project goals to on-site employees.
  • Interact with the supply chain, subcontractors, and clients, while ensuring the quality delivery of the project.
  • What you need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience overseeing fit-out schemes and, ideally, with exposure to face-paced shop fit-out projects. You will be required to have management experience, with those having a joinery / carpentry trade preferred. It will be essential to hold relevant management or supervisory tickets such as SMSTS / SSSTS / CSCS / NVQ. You will be expected to be self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tradesmen and those you have responsibility for on-site. You will also need to be willing to travel though the UK and Ireland as sites dictate.
    What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a progressive company with a busy orderbook. This contractor is steadily building on an already impressive project portfolio, providing the opportunity for further progression and ongoing personal development. This company also offers a competitive salary in line with the market and further benefits for its staff. You can expect to work in varied environments throughout the UK & Ireland, with all travel and accommodation covered, as well as working within a company with continued repeat clients. In return for your hard work, you can expect additional company benefits and perks that can be discussed at the interview stage.
