Job description

Are you a seasoned Legal Cashier looking for a fresh challenge?

Are you the type who can keep the financial engine of a legal team running smoothly without breaking a sweat?

If numbers, compliance and accuracy are your thing - and you're ready for your next move then you'll want to keep reading.

About the company

You'll be joining an award-winning company that's recognised as one of the region's most respected and reputable firms! This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team that's leading the way in excellence and innovation.

You'll be working in a professional and supportive environment where you can grow your skills in the legal sector, gaining valuable hands-on experience and receiving guidance from a highly experienced management team.

The role

You will be responsible for handling all daily legal cashiering duties, including reconciling the firm's bank accounts and monitoring any unpresented items. This also includes the reconciliation of Legal Aid items.

Additionally, you will ensure that client-related supplier invoices are processed promptly. You will oversee the production of all client billing as requested by fee earners, ensuring that client withdrawals comply with the SRA Accounts Rules.

About you

As an experienced Legal Cashier, you'll know the ins and outs of bank reconciliations, purchase ledgers, and credit control, and SRA compliance is second nature to you. You're not just organised and efficient - you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail truly matters. If you're proactive, love taking responsibility and can balance multiple tasks with ease, then this role is for you.

You will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar legal position. Being ILFM qualified would give you an advantage but is not essential.

You'll need your own transport for this role, working from the Durham office however occasional travel to the firm's Newcastle branch will be required.
