Job description

Anderson Knight is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join one of our clients based in West Lothian. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities within the organisation. You will develop and implement purchasing strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure that all materials, supplies, and services meet the company s quality standards and are delivered on time. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with the company s goals and objectives.
  • Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and alternative products.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, finance, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics related to purchasing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification in CIPS is a plus.
