Senior Associate Rural Surveyor Job in Chelmsford

New opening for a Senior Associate Rural Surveyor job with a dynamic Rural Land Management and Consultancy team, operating from the Chelmsford and Ipswich offices. This role involves taking a key position within the Eastern Region, providing estate and professional rural management services to an impressive portfolio of clients.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in offering expert rural estate, farm, and property management advice, working closely with teams across residential, farming, forestry, and finance sectors. This is a diverse role combining estate management and professional rural work, offering a clear progression path within the team, including succession planning for a senior member of the management group.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as principal agent for key estate management clients, providing comprehensive and professional advice
  • Actively contribute to succession planning for senior management and their estate portfolios
  • Drive business development opportunities and foster strong client relationships
  • Undertake estate and farming business reviews, ensuring key deliverables are met
  • Ensure adherence to both internal and client compliance standards
  • Innovate and deliver diversification projects, leveraging skills for the wider team
  • Carry out secured lending valuations and other professional assessments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team, with a focus on future leadership within the business
  • Maintain profitability of client relationships and explore new business avenues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • MRICS qualified, ideally on the Rural pathway
  • Experience working in a similar position, ideally consultancy
  • Proven leadership ability, capable of mentoring junior staff and leading client-facing projects
  • Strong time management, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in estate management and carrying out valuations for lending and planning purposes
  • Innovative, forward-thinking with a track record of delivering diversified rural projects
  • Full UK Driving Licence and car
  • CAAV/SAAVA qualification is desirable.
