Despatch Operative (Forklift Driver)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Despatch Operative, with Forklift Truck duties, to join our team at Agrial Fresh Farms in Colchester. You will be key in supplying the freshest salad leaves to market across the UK.

This role will use a Forklift Truck to move freshly harvested produce from our farm and into cold storage, before then loading the produce onto trucks to export the produce to our manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, a desire to manage and be responsible for their own area, as well as a goal to develop into a role with more than just Forklift duties. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Pay: £12.44 per hour.

Working hours: Scales based on season. 32 hours per week minimum, with more during April-October.

Main Responsibilities

• Full ownership of external yard and internal cold storage areas. Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of these areas.
• Ensure all storage locations are clean and easy to access.
• Use of a Forklift Truck to load, unload, and store pallets of produce in both storage and onto trucks.
• Ensure all documents related to despatch are clear to understand, regularly updated, and accessible.
• Keeping produce refrigerated and kept fresh.

Skills and Experience Required

• Forklift Truck License
• Strong Organisational Skills and a structured mindset
• A desire to be responsible for their own area and proud to maintain it to the highest standard
• A proven high level of accuracy and attention to detail

About Us

Agrial Fresh Farms is one of four UK based sites within Agrial Fresh Produce, which is an autonomous part of the larger 22,000 employee strong French co-operative group, Agrial.

Our Agrial Fresh Farms site is an integrated farming operation based in Colchester, Essex. The salad farm provides baby leaf year-round to the UK, grown in polytunnels, and whole head and outdoor crops throughout the summer. The produce is supplied into our UK sites for processing and distribution.

The business operates mainly under it's recognisable Florette salad brand and we are one of the UK s leading producers in the industry.
