Job description

Just Food Recruitment is working exclusively with this market-leading food manufacturer to find a talented business professional to join them as their Head of Healthcare Sales.

Job Purpose:

Identify and secure new businesses within the healthcare market. Build and develop business relationships with current and new customers. Proactively identify and pursue financially viable new customers in line with the business strategy. Lead the tender opportunity processes, working closely with external clients/third parties. Provide product presentation and support to gain new business.

Manage and give guidance to the Commercial Team to include all National Account Managers and the Commercial Co-ordinator.

Must Have:

  • Experience and skills to secure new business in a hunting style role, ideally from a catering and/or healthcare background.
  • Ability to work across functions
  • A completer/finisher mindset with the ability to project manage.
  • A proven track record of building strong, profitable customer relationships and winning new business.
  • The ability and tenacity to cold call prospects to generate appointments and convert these to a sale.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, negotiation and presentation skills at all levels internally and externally.
  • A full Driving Licence.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and environment, as this is a largely field-based role.
  • The ability to develop and deliver strategies and sales plans and convert these to successful working relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team to deliver the goals and targets set.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal together with the ability to deliver engaging presentations.
  • Intermediate level IT skills with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Preferred:

  • A good understanding of the commercial world in the healthcare sector.
  • An existing network of contacts within the sector.

Role Accopuntabilies:

  • Relationship building and nurturing of prospects to convert into new customers and managing the hand over process to the Account Management Team.
  • Selling our delivered meals concept by actively seeking new appointments, understanding the prospects requirements and proposing the right solution.
  • Conversion of prospects into customers by selling the commercial benefits of moving to our delivered meal system.
  • Set and self-manage all account plans at both turnover and gross margin level.
  • Maintain appropriate information flow between the business and customers to ensure excellent customer service and minimum impact to the business.
  • Provide detailed monthly reporting of pipeline and identified prospects for presentation to the executive.
  • To proactively build and nurture profitable business relationships with new and current customers.
  • Become highly visible as an ambassador for the business within the healthcare sector through attending relevant exhibitions, meetings and events.
  • Cross-sell other company products and services to existing and prospective clients.
  • To work closely and collaboratively with other Senior Team members in the business.
  • Adopt safe working practices in line with current company procedures and to undertake appropriate training in Health and Safety and Food Safety.
