The Company:
Morden College has more than 200 older people living in alms house accommodation on two sites across Blackheath and Beckenham. At Morden College we are committed to providing services that support our residents to live independent and healthy lives. As well as independent living our Blackheath site is also home to the Morden College Care Home.
About the Role:
To provide high quality beverage services and occasional food services across the Morden College sites with a focus on the RPC Bar and Events.
The shift pattern for this role is Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday evenings.
Key Duties:
To ensure that customers College wide benefit from high quality hospitality in the form of friendly, courteous, efficient and professional levels of service delivery.
To comply with both legislative requirements and Morden College policies when operating the RPC Bar or working at Events which may include, but are not limited to, birthday celebrations, funeral events and dinners.
To ensure that drinks and food are served to the standards specified in the Standards Manual and that payment is taken and processed for all drinks and snacks.
To ensure that all cash and credit transactions are recorded through the till system and that all stock is accounted for.
To undertake specified cleaning tasks and complete the cleaning schedule as required.
To ensure that opening, operating and closing procedures are in line with the Standards Manual or such guidance as may be issued from time to time by the Resident Services Manager or the Operations Director.
To practice high standards of personal presentation and behaviour and to pay particular attention to the Morden College Employee Policy in respect of alcohol.
To comply with statutory and organisational requirements, including but not limited to Health and Safety; Fire Safety; Food Safety and that all necessary records are maintained, and reports made.
To work collaboratively with colleagues from other departments to ensure operational success.
To respect the dignity, well-being and independence of residents and bring to the attention of the Management Board any concerns surrounding their safeguarding, security or care.
Customers are defined as residents, beneficiaries, relatives, visitors and colleagues.
About you:
The ideal candidates must have excellent customer service and teamwork skills, be friendly and professional, be enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile, and have an impeccable appearance.
Previous experience in a customer facing role is essential. Previous experience in a Hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
