Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for an Commercial Manager (Band 4) on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 9-5 (flexible working available)


Adult social care and public heath procurement experience needed.

Preferably: MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)

About the role:

The Council is seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Manager to lead end-to-end procurement processes within our corporate category, which includes a wide range of areas such as IT and Facilities Management (FM). This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely but requires presence at City Hall in Victoria 1-2 days a week. The Commercial Manager will report directly to the Head of Tendering.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage procurement processes from initiation through to completion.
Focus on corporate categories including IT and FM, ensuring value for money and compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to drive effective procurement strategies.
Deliver high-quality procurement outcomes in a timely manner.
Ensure alignment with Council goals and public sector procurement guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience working within Local Authority/Public Sector.
Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end procurement processes.
Specific experience in corporate categories such as IT or FM.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
MCIPS qualification is preferred.
