  • Mayor's Community Engagement Manager
  • Public Sector - Local Authority
  • Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
  • Temporary Role - 6 months
  • Hybrid Working - 4 days in office (Croydon, CR0), 1 day at home however there may be some flexibility around this
  • 26.65 per hour PAYE / 34.69 per hour Umbrella (increasing to 36.41 per hour from 13th week)
  • ASAP Start
  • IT equipment provided
  • up to 28 days Paid Annual Leave (up to 39 days from 13th week)

Adecco are recruiting for a Mayor's Community Engagement Manager on behalf of their Public Sector client.

As the Mayor's Community Engagement Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Mayor and their Cabinet by providing strategic advice and support on communications and community engagement. Collaborating closely with the Mayor's Office Team Manager, you will ensure that the Administration's aims and ambitions are effectively delivered and communicated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement programme for the Mayor and Cabinet.
  • Provide strategic communications advice to enable effective communication and engagement with Croydon residents, partners, and the media.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to align the council's communications with the Mayor's policy priorities.
  • Proactively identify and arrange community engagement and communications opportunities for the Mayor.
  • Liaise with the Mayor, Cabinet, and Communications and Engagement team on the sign-off of materials.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials for the Mayor and Cabinet.

Key Requirements:

  • Good understanding of local, regional, and national policy challenges.
  • Knowledge of different communications and community engagement methods and strategies.
  • Strong political understanding and judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage audiences and build positive relationships.
  • Proven experience in providing advice to senior elected Members in a local government setting.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised political environment and manage competing priorities.
