Product Manager

(Electronic / Electro-Mech)

Job Purpose

The Product Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of company product lines.

This role involves strategic planning, product development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our products meet market needs and exceed customer expectations.

Main Duties and Areas of Responsibility (in order of priority)

  • Product Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy.
    • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
    • Define product vision, roadmap, and positioning in alignment with company goals.
  • Product Development:
    • Manage the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Collaborate with sales, engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative and high-quality products.
    • Oversee product testing and quality assurance to meet regulatory standards and customer requirements.
  • Market and Customer Insights:
    • Gather and analyse customer feedback to continuously improve product offerings.
    • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to stay ahead of the competition.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations
  • Sales and Marketing Support:
    • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
    • Provide product training and support to sales teams and distributors.
    • Work with marketing to create compelling product documentation, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and analyze product performance metrics, including sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Indicators

The below list is indicative of the type of KPIs and the tracking tools which will be used for the role

  • Sales revenue from new products / part numbers
  • Successful product launches

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Competence required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical background with an understanding of electronic components and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of success.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using product management software and tools.

  • Product samples
  • Demonstration cases of equipment
  • Company literature
  • Various small tools

Other

  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by the line manager from time to time.
  • Some National and International travel will be required as part of this role.
  • The jobholder should be aware of and comply with company and statutory requirements regarding health & safety, fire and hygiene.
