Senior Baggage Agent

Duties:

The Senior Baggage Agent is responsible for overseeing daily airside operations within the Baggage Department, ensuring Ground Handler meets customer satisfaction, safety, and operational performance standards. Key duties include managing baggage loading, unloading, sorting, and reconciliation processes for arriving, departing, and connecting flights.

You will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, lead safe working practices, and collaborate with the ramp, check-in, and ground operations teams to ensure seamless baggage flow. As a key representative of Ground Handler, you will proactively resolve operational issues, report incidents, and assist in training staff to maintain high performance standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in baggage systems and processes, including BRS reconciliation and flight build in the baggage makeup area.
  • Knowledge of platforms like VIBES, Safetrac, and Ultra with troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with airside equipment such as baggage tugs and belt loaders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and operational demands, including irregular operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Baggage Agent or similar role.

Shift Patterns

- 6 on 3 off

- x3 early, x3 late. 8.5 hour shifts with a earliest start of 04:25am

- All shifts are subject to change to meet the needs of the business

About You:

- Due to the location of work being at the airport, you must qualify. Therefore, you will need to be able to provide the following information:

- 5-year checkable history (employment, self-employment, education or benefit claim)

- 5-year UK address history

- Eligibility to work in the UK (UK Passport, EU Passport, Non-EU Passport & Visa, Biometric Residence Permit, UK Birth Certificate (British citizens only)

- Provide proof of National Insurance

- Provide proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement, HMRC Letter)
