JOB PURPOSE:

The role of the Site Supervisor is required to support a complex CDM site at a TfL Depot. This will involve the management of sites with specialist contractors and UKPN Services direct staff, encompassing a range of activities from surveying, civil construction, cable laying, and associated electrical works.

The role will require management of CDM sites to achieve a high level of safety compliance, quality, cost, and time targets set by a Project Manager. The role will require coordination and organisation of all site operations to ensure that projects are delivered with full consideration to safety, third parties/customers, in accordance with UK Power Networks policies, procedures and standards. The role will be reportable to the nominated Project Manager for the project.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure construction assurance is to the required standards through audits on quality of work, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures, and safety and environmental procedures.
• Ensuring the project deliverables meet TFL needs, including taking ownership and responsibility for the quality of project work to meet the highest standards.
• Considerable experience of developing and implementing major infrastructure/ Rail projects and/or large projects of similar complexity in a highly regulated environment, such as Depots and Rail stations.
• Ability in site management and construction methodologies across groundworks, civil/ building, and electrical works.
• Knowledge and experience of site-based processes and procedures/regulations for construction work sites.
• Ensuring prompt submission of the necessary documentations are adhere to for project delivery to continue.
• The ability to review and comment on method statements, risk assessments, ITP s, check sheets and assurance documentation.
• To produce daily site reports and site related spreadsheets to check project delivery.
• The ability to define problems, collect site information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions within the team.
• Exceptional leadership and people skills, able to build strong working relationships with the site team and TFL members, influence others and work collaboratively.
• Able to communicate effectively and interact with site team members and senior management.
• Demonstrable ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines supported by strong organisational skills.
• The expectation to conducted site briefings and produce relevant documentation that aligns with TFL/UKPNS requirements.
• Ensure that the required project data is completed in a timely manner and submitted for processing.

• Coordinate the construction activities on site ensuring that all activities have an appropriate method statement and risk assessment in place.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You should have at least 5 years of relevant demonstrable experience with a background overseeing civils works (excavation, reinstatement, cable laying / pipe laying etc)

• SSSTMS or SMSTS

• PTS (desirable)

• You will have an ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering

• A detailed knowledge of the safety & environmental regulations relating to construction work in the industry. A safety qualification such as IOSH & CITB SMSTS is required as will experience of working with the CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.

• Authorised to accept Limitation of Access for Civil and Building works, and issue task instructions in an electrical environment (desirable)

• Hold a full UK driving license

• You will also require and be able to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills

• You will need a flexible attitude to work and working hours

• An ability to collaborate with colleagues and other teams within UKPN Services and also with external partners

• Experience of working with a multi-culture project team.
