Location: City of London
Salary: 65,000 - 75,000 per annum
Core Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Are you a dedicated and proactive Compliance Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? Our client, a leading building services company, is seeking a proactive and dedicated Compliance Manager to join their team at an iconic building in the heart of the City.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to ensure the safe and compliant operation of various sites within their portfolio. With a technical background and solid industry experience, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of compliance standards, SFG20 guidelines, and building safety requirements.

Role Overview:

As the Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing compliance protocols across multiple sites, ensuring that all operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This is a hands-on role where you will support site teams, conduct audits, and drive compliance initiatives. You will report directly to the Account Director, providing valuable insights into compliance activities and offering recommendations to improve operational safety.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations to identify compliance gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Lead from the front in supporting site teams to close out compliance findings and maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance protocols are understood and followed.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, best practices, and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide hands-on training to employees on compliance matters, including hazardous materials handling, PPE, and emergency response protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs, making recommendations and implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Prepare and submit reports on compliance activities, incidents, and mitigation plans to the Account Director.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal/external auditors, regulators, and industry associations to ensure smooth regulatory interactions.
  • Serve as the key point of contact and subject matter expert on compliance issues, including Building Safety Act requirements.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with sound technical knowledge and clear understanding of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practices (SFG20, CBM, etc.).
  • Membership of a professional body such as CQI, IIRSM, IOSH, or IET.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor Certified.
  • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems Internal Auditor Certified.
  • NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining compliance management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant legislation, with confidence in liaising with regulators, trade unions, and forums.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk assessment abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
