Position: Deputy Financial Controller
Salary: 8a with inner London weighting allowance

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

On Site Presence: 3 days on site

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Financial Controller to join our finance team. The Deputy Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of transactional functions.

Qualifications and Education:

  • You must be CCAB Qualified, Education to degree level and IT Literate - Spreadsheets, database, pivot tables, ECDL or equivalent

Experience:

  • Five years of working in a financial environment with at least 3 years of financial and capital accounts experience in an NHS environment
  • Experience of working with spreadsheets, word, databases, working with large complex data volumes on spreadsheets
  • Managing staff and effective team working
  • Experience of reporting on PFI schemes and Finance Leases in an NHS environment is desirable but willingness to learn is also being considered
  • It is desirable to have an advanced knowledge of NHS Accounting Policies and procedures as recognised with UK IFRS
  • Knowledge of NHS funding and regulation (NHSE, ICB, Local Authority).
  • Knowledge of financial coding and ledger and sub-ledger management
  • Knowledge of financial controls and experience of maintaining these
  • Up to date knowledge of NHS, organisational challenges and development
