Development Caretaker

Location: Camberwell

Salary: £32.5k

Mon-Friday: 8-5PM on-site

About the Role: As the Development Caretaker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and cleanliness in all common areas for a site in Camberwell. You will be the first point of contact for owners, residents, and visitors, addressing any issues, questions, or concerns regarding the Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the CCTV system, control access, identify risks, maintain fire alarm systems, and ensure clear fire exits.
  • Ensure all systems (CCTV, lifts, door entry, lighting, car park, amenities) are in full working order.
  • Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain all common areas, performing minor repairs and reporting issues to the property manager.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to communications from owners and residents, manage notice boards, replace light bulbs, and handle keys and fobs issuance.
  • Assist elderly or infirm residents, report potential criminal activity, control vehicular access, and enforce Resident Guidelines and Pet Policy.
  • Oversee cleaning contractors, maintain equipment logbooks, plan preventative maintenance, and handle complaints and accidents efficiently.

Experience needed:

  • Familiarity with dealing with development issues
  • Extensive experience with leaseholder liaison
  • High standards of professionalism
  • Flexible approach to addressing ad hoc issues
  • Polite and professional interaction with a diverse range of people and organisations
  • Ability to identify and address potential issues promptly
  • Strong prioritisation skills and willingness to attend occasional out-of-hours meetings
  • Commitment to strict confidentiality regarding residents and owners
