Emergency Accommodation - Support Worker

Location: Pembrokeshire

Hours: Up to 40 per week

Salary: £25,262 Pro Rota

Who we are looking for?

An empathic, pro-active Support Worker, who can deliver a range of activities to Temporary Accommodation residents. The Activity Support Worker will lead and inspire our service users to engage in meaningful activity during our 6pm -10pm evening shifts. Support Workers must have excellent communication skills to work with people who may have complex risk and need, so being able to respond effectively to emergencies is essential. Knowledge of issues surrounding Homelessness, Safeguarding, substance misuse, mental health and the criminal justice system would be an advantage. Also, a knowledge of housing management issues such as health and Safety and Fire safety is desirable. You will be required to hold good recording and computer skills and the ability to work as part of a shift working team.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited:

  • To create an itinerary of stimulating activities for onsite service users
  • To encourage Involvement and Inclusion to all residents and the wider team
  • To promote a safe learning & activity space for residents
  • To provide trauma informed responses to service users; championing Nacro values
  • To intake new residents that may arrive onsite during the evening shifts
  • To support residents with exit paperwork should they move on during evening shifts
  • To follow/contribute to Support Planning, Risk Assessments, Record keeping and Incident reporting

    Your duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade.

    You are required to undertake any such reasonable and appropriate duties .
