Job description

Job Title: Head of Operations.

Location: Greater London

Salary: c 80,000k - 90,000 DOE plus benefits

An innovative Food manufacturer with a rich history and a real emphasis on strategic planning and productivity are now looking to recruit a Head of Operations to lead their and drive standards across all departments.

If successful in this role, there is a real chance for you to climb the ladder and potentially become a member of the board.

The Candidate:

  • Proven Leadership skills in a Food Manufacturing environment, preferably with experience of managing engineering and/or maintenance as well as operations.
  • Degree in Food Science / Science, or related subject or equivalent.
  • Track record of delivering strategic projects and managing costs effectively.
  • Capable of working cross functionally and bringing departments together.
  • Effective communicator with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to deal with complexity and change, prioritise effectively, and deliver within short timescales,
  • Analytical mindset, looking for opportunities to improve current practices.

The Role:

  • As Head of Operations, you will have direct responsibility for the day to day running of the plant and facilities.
  • You will develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture, driving operational efficiencies, and identifying and implementing improvements to working practices to improve efficiency, performance and reliability.
  • You will manage teams across operations, engineering and warehousing, driving efficiencies and working towards common goals.
  • As the Head of Operations, you will report directly into the Managing Director.
  • Ensure all food products are manufactured to the required product safety and quality standards, safely and on time.
  • Managing costs and spends across the factory.
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to enhance employee productivity and morale.
