The Opportunity

Kensington have a fun and friendly team with a great culture and a supportive working environment. We are seeking a like-minded Head Veterinary Nurse to join us in this crucial role.

With three Branch Partners, and a Practice Manager, you will have lots of support, you won t be overloaded with admin, instead you ll be able to really focus on doing what you love, being a nurse and clinical leadership.

Kensington is a lovely, modern and well-equipped hospital situated in beautiful part of London, a short walk from Gloucester Rd Tube Station. It has lots to offer and everything needed to provided exceptional care!

The clinic is equipped with complex ultrasound, laparoscopic stack system, endoscope, full in-house lab, separate dog and cat wards, isolation area, two operating theatres and big expansion plans coming in the near future!

To support your work-life balance, this role works to a 4-day week with 1:6 weekends. You ll have a set day off each week, providing continuity to make plans and enjoy your extra free time!

To help your clinical passions flourish, we have created clinical communities where vets and nurses with shared interests can connect and collaborate on a regular basis!

You ll find us right next to Hyde Park, perfect for spending your lunch breaks picnicking in the upcoming Summer months!

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
  • Engage, coach and develop your team.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Able to confidently lead a clinical team.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
