Job description

Health and Safety Administrator

Salary: 30,000 - 35,000
Location: Primarily based in one of the main depots with occasional travel to other depots.

Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Administrator to support their expanding team. This role may suit someone with warehouse experience who has actively contributed to a Health and Safety Committee and is looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and administration of health and safety policies across the company's depots.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records, including incident reports, risk assessments, and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage the health and safety training matrix, ensuring certifications such as Forklift and IPAF are current across all teams.
  • Liaise with depot teams to ensure health and safety procedures are being followed and assist in promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Participate in accident investigations and help implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Schedule and help prepare health and safety meetings, taking minutes and following up on action points.
  • Provide administrative support for health and safety audits, including ISO and other industry standards.
  • Assist in compiling reports and data for senior management on health and safety performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working in a warehouse or operational environment with involvement in a Health and Safety Committee or a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with managing records and documentation.
  • A proactive attitude towards safety and continuous improvement.
