Role Details
Regent's University London is a private university with a stunning Central London campus, right in the heart of Royal Regent's Park. We offer a premium undergraduate and postgraduate education that begins with the individual - focussing on each student's talent, potential and aspirations. Regent's particular combination of place, scale, cosmopolitanism and educational approach is unique. It enables us to offer what we believe is a higher education fit for the times we're in: a world of unbridled change, uncertainty and possibility. Our students are at the centre of our universe. And everything we do - in our courses and classrooms, through our connections and our networks, in our learning design and as a learning community - is designed to nurture their personal growth and professional development.
Following changes within the management structure of the area and the increase in student interest, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Lecturer in Operations and Business Management to join our esteemed content area at a leading UK university. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Operations Management or a closely related field, coupled with a solid track record of real-world business and management experience. This unique combination of academic achievement and practical business acumen will enable the successful applicant to inspire and educate the next generation of business leaders. Applicants should demonstrate a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the future-facing business landscape, along with a passion for teaching and research that bridges theory and practice.
Our courses (undergraduate and postgraduate) offer students the ability to cover a broad spectrum of businesses and to acquire a global perspective of operations management in a variety of sectors from finance to fashion to hospitality, automotive, retail and travel.
On top of learning about strategic enterprise processes and business activities to develop their business and management skills, our students are also provided an opportunity to experience business operations in action, for example, through guest lectures from industry specialists, participation in focus groups, working on live assessments, and taking part in relevant industry events.
We are a small team and there will also be opportunities to really influence the course content, improve student learning and experience and to support the Directors of Business, Finance and Entrepreneurship. In addition, there will be an opportunity to supervise students at doctoral level as well.
