Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Project Manager to join our team at a prominent local authority in London. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems across a range of council-led projects. The position offers hybrid working, with a flexible mix of home, office, and site-based work depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage M&E elements for various local authority projects, from public infrastructure to housing and building services, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with council standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to develop and approve M&E designs that comply with regulatory and local authority guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee the installation and maintenance of M&E systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for M&E issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with council teams, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure M&E systems are fully integrated within the broader project framework.
  • Manage project budgets related to M&E systems and provide regular progress reports to council leadership.
  • Ensure all M&E installations meet relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as local authority requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services with significant relevant experience. Alternatively, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field with some experience.
  • Proven experience managing M&E projects, preferably within the public sector or for local authorities.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems design, installation, and UK regulations, including building codes and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work both remotely and on-site, with travel to various project locations across London as required.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to impactful public projects while enjoying a flexible working arrangement.
