Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Metal Polisher on behalf of our engineering manufacturing clients. Our client has been operating for many years and supply a variety of clients in UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities
As a Dye/ Metal Polisher, you will Polish various metal components such as coins and precious metals, leaving them smooth, shiny and defect-free using hand tools, welder and polishing lathes.

. Hours: Monday to Friday. The working hours are 8 am 4.30pm Monday - Friday with 2 x 15 minutes paid break and have hour unpaid.

Key Responsibilities:
• Polish and repair various metal components to a high standard, leaving them smooth, shiny, and defect-free using hand tools, welder and polishing lathes.
• Prepare metal surfaces for the plating process to ensure optimal adhesion of plating.
• Inspect finished products for imperfections, such as scratches, dents, uneven finish, and re-work accordingly.
• Maintain all tools and equipment ensuring they are always in good working order.
• Ensure Pre-use machine and extraction checks are completed and recorded daily.
• Adhere to Company Health & Safety and maintain a clean, safe workshop.
• Work closely and communicate with other departments and team members to ensure seamless production and high-quality output at all times.
• Ensure adequate stock of belts etc.

Suitable Candidate:
• Previous experience working as a metal polisher is necessary
• Ability to polish, weld and undertake various repairs on precious metals
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.

The ability to work independently and use your own initiative

The suitable candidate will need to come from a toolmaking /polishing background and have a minimum of two years relevant experience.
