Job description

It is a vital moment for the environment as we face the dual nature and climate crises and the world has become increasingly aware of the important role trees play in tackling climate change, protecting and improving biodiversity and contributing to our health and wellbeing.

The Tree Council celebrated its 50 th anniversary in 2023 and has experienced fantastic growth over the past few years. The charity has recently secured several major partnerships to plant, protect and speak up for trees and hedgerows. We also have a fast-growing National Schools Programme, a popular corporate Tree Partners scheme, and an important community grants programme, offering funding, free trees and training to local groups.

To help deliver our ambitious plans, we are recruiting a Partnerships Officer to join our small team. This is an important supporting role, helping sustain the CEO and Senior Team, coordinating our Charity Coalition Group and protecting and enhancing the future of UK trees. The post-holder will be based at our office, in a Grade 2 listed building at Canada Water in East London, with considerable flexibility for short- or long-distance working from home.

We are looking for someone who is used to being hands-on in a small team, with high standards, in a fast-paced environment. Communication, a warm and enthusiastic attitude and attention to detail are key. Above all, you should be keen to use your strong organisational skills to support The Tree Council's CEO and the Senior Team to fulfil their ambitious vision for the future.

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Provide administrative support to the CEO and Senior Team, aiming to help create a positive, productive, warm and efficient working environment
  • Help the charity's Board of Trustees continue with efficient, timely and well-recorded meetings and governance
