Job Title:Planner (Development Manager)

Salary Range: Scale 6- PO1£30,483 to £44,139 Depending on Skills and Experience

Full Time, Permanent, 36 hours

Location: Home working and Office based in Twickenham Civic Centre

The Role

With interesting developments on the horizon, we are expanding the Strategic Applications Team at Richmond and have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Planning Officer to join the Team. The main duties include dealing with major and some complex applications, pre-application submissions and appeals as required.

With excellent communication skills you'll assume responsibility for effective negotiation and resolution, to ensure outcomes that reflect the Council's wider positive objectives and policies of promoting high quality and innovative development, while conserving the historic character of the Borough.

The position will be based in Richmond, with opportunities for homeworking.

Who are you

If you are a highly motivated individual with a creative approach to problem solving alongside a "can-do" attitude to improvements in service delivery this could be the role for you!

The ideal person for the role will hold an RTPI accredited planning qualification and be able to demonstrate knowledge of Development Management, and although direct experience is not essential, it would be desirable. You will have the ability to read and assess plans, write accurate and concise reports, have excellent time management and communication skills and be a team player, as part of a busy and high performing team. While we will provide you with opportunities to undertake relevant training to help you develop in your role and further progress your career.
