Job description

Cityworx is recruiting on behalf of an established domiciliary and supported living service provider for a Registered Manager based in the Wanstead area.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support services that meet CQC standards and the needs of service users. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, compliance monitoring, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture within the care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    • Provide leadership to the Senior Team and the wider care staff, promoting a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage the recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance appraisal of staff, ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce.
    • Lead on the management of disciplinary issues, grievances, and performance management in collaboration with HR.
  2. Service Quality and Compliance:
    • Act as the Registered Manager for regulated activities, ensuring compliance with CQC s Fundamental Standards of being Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well Led.
    • Prepare for and lead during CQC inspections, local authority reviews, and internal quality assurance processes.
    • Implement and monitor quality assurance systems, including audits and the development of action plans to address identified areas for improvement.
    • Ensure all care plans, risk assessments, and other documentation are up to date and compliant with CQC and company policies.
  3. Budget and Financial Management:
    • Manage the service budget, ensuring effective deployment of resources within financial parameters set by the provider.
    • Monitor financial performance, prepare regular budget reports, and address variances in income and expenditure.
    • Ensure efficient rostering and resource allocation to meet the needs of service users while maintaining budgetary control.
  4. Operational Management:
    • Conduct regular team meetings and service user meetings to gather feedback and drive service improvements.
    • Maintain a proactive approach to safeguarding, ensuring robust risk management and compliance with safeguarding policies.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with service users, families, commissioners, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Lead on marketing the service, managing service growth, and overseeing the assessment and transition of new service users.
  6. Safeguarding and Risk Management:
    • Lead on all safeguarding matters, including reporting to CQC and local authorities as required.
    • Ensure robust risk assessments and management processes are in place and reviewed regularly.
    • Manage the safeguarding database, ensuring accurate and timely records of all incidents, communications, and actions taken.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent (Essential).
  • Registered Manager's Award (Desirable).
  • Management qualification or relevant management experience (Desirable).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within domiciliary care or supported living services (Essential).
  • Experience in providing values-based leadership and working within statutory requirements (Essential).
  • Experience in working with service users who have additional support needs, including learning disabilities (Desirable).
  • Proven ability to manage and work within budgets, and successfully recruit and retain staff (Essential).
