Position Overview
The Senior Commercial Data Analyst will support the telecommunications team with advanced analytics, business intelligence, and marketing optimization initiatives to drive customer experience and commercial growth. The role involves hands-on data analysis, mentorship, and collaboration across a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Insights
o Leverage advanced analytics to support business objectives, with a primary focus on customer experience enhancement and marketing performance optimization.
o Apply statistical methods and analytical tools to interpret B2C data, develop insights, and create actionable recommendations.
o Conduct in-depth analysis on marketing and customer behavior data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance drivers.
2. Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics
o Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and BI reports, ensuring that insights are accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
o Utilize business intelligence tools to create predictive models, customer segmentation, and propensity models.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions and analytical projects.
3. Commercial & Strategic Alignment
o Work closely with commercial teams to understand key business objectives and align data strategies with business goals.
o Analyze market trends and competitor data to provide insight into the company's market position and opportunities for improvement.
o Support marketing strategies with data-driven recommendations for enhancing customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
4. Mentorship & Team Development
o Provide guidance and training to Junior Business Analysts within a team of 7-8 analysts, supporting skill development and promoting best practices.
o Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
5. Technical & Hands-On Data Management
o Perform hands-on data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SQL and Python.
o Develop and optimize SQL queries to support data analysis and BI initiatives.
o Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company data governance standards.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
o Collaborate with key stakeholders in marketing, sales, and customer experience to identify business needs and develop data-driven strategies.
o Effectively communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical stakeholders, supporting decision-making with clear, actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field (Master s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in a commercial data analyst role within a telecommunications or similar B2C industry.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, reporting, and model development.
• Expertise in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of statistical and data visualization techniques.
Commercial Acumen
• Strong understanding of marketing analytics, customer segmentation, and customer journey optimization.
• Proven track record of using data to drive business growth in a B2C environment.
Interpersonal Skills
• Strong leadership abilities and experience in coaching or mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to a range of stakeholders.
Contract Details
• Type: Hybrid contract role with expectation of 2-3 days per week on-site in London, can be flexible on this if remote. Candidate Dependant.
• Duration: Initial 2-month contract with a high probability of extension.
• £750 - £900/day
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
