Salary Grade: M1 UPS 3 Inner London

An exciting new special school setting, aiming to provide the highest quality to students with special educational needs. The school provides the highest support for students with a variety of needs, particularly high-functioning autism, anxiety, and emotionally based school avoidance EBSA.

Who are we looking for?

The school are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Science Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team. This would suit someone who is wanting to explore and specialise in a special educational setting. This role would suit colleagues from a range of teaching backgrounds including mainstream and specialist settings. The ideal candidate will lead their subject area, delivering the curriculum across Years 7 to 11 with experience teaching up to GCSE Level and other Level 2 qualifications. They will work with Primary and Post-16 colleagues to ensure a seamless learning journey, while being passionate about supporting students with special educational needs. Building positive, trusting relationships with students, they will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment with clear boundaries.

What is required?

The role requires a QTS or equivalent qualification, along with proven teaching experience. A strong desire to work in a specialist setting and excellent communication skills are essential. While a basic understanding of Autism is required, comprehensive training will be provided. Additionally, having a full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
