A prestigious, £multi-billion, global FTSE100 seeks a highly credible and experienced Logistics / Indirect Procurement professional to join their award-winning and world-class procurement function. This high commercially performing FMCG giant have maintained their position at the forefront of the market due ongoing transformation and innovation, as part of this growth and expansion they are invest £1Billion annually to drive them towards their strategic procurement objectives.
Working closely alongside a visionary leadership team, the Senior Category Manager for Logistics will be tasked with managing the performance of business-critical logistics accounts in order to deliver value in several key focus areas; commercial, sustainability and digital. Logistics is a vitally important category area for the business due to the volume and scale of their operations allowing them to deliver an unrivalled product range both globally and regionally to their customers.
The Senior Category Manager for Logistics will address a broad variety of dynamic subcategories which include; fleet, freight, road transport, haulage, warehousing, 3PL, distribution and automation. The successful candidate will manage £multi-million worth of spend, devising and implementing effective category strategies and spearheading strategic sourcing projects across their allotted spend areas with the goal of making valuable contributions to the future of this industry giants complex logistics portfolio.
The successful candidate's character will be typified by their personable and polished nature, their strong stakeholder management skills and they will be able to demonstrate their commercial flare, strong negotiation skills and ability to extract value from long term and high value contracts.
The role with feature a large amount of engagement with c-suite senior leaders and will have a large amount of visibility allowing for your accomplishments to be recognized and rewarded. Experience Required:
- Degree or equivalent qualification. CIPS or MCIPS qualified.
- Logistics Procurement Experience (Preferable), any experience across; fleet, freight, road transport, haulage, warehousing, 3PL, distribution and automation.
- Experience across FMCG, Retail or Manufacturing (Preferable)
- Demonstratable experience in managing large logistics spend, contract management, stakeholder management and commercial management.
- Commercial acumen, strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills - SRM & ability to communicate with c-suite.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with complex problem-solving.
- Relationship-driven and adaptable under pressure.
