About the Role:

Get ready to transform Lambeth's highways and public spaces! You will oversee the design process for improvements ranging from £25k to £5m. Imagine balancing your engineering prowess with creative flair. You will craft innovative, durable, and cost-effective solutions that are not only safe but also ground-breaking. You'll be at the helm of a dynamic team of engineers and design assistants, fostering a vibrant and productive work environment where ideas flourish.

Your role will be pivotal in bringing to life projects commissioned by the Transport Strategy team, enhancing their vision with your expertise. You'll dive into creating and overseeing designs that meet the highest standards and safety regulations, all while injecting creativity to elevate user experiences and sustainability goals. Communicating your visionary proposals through AutoCAD and other tools, you'll develop detailed plans and business cases that pave the way for future projects. Leading your team with enthusiasm, you'll ensure top-notch project execution, promote a positive team culture, and provide essential training on new standards. To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will both clearly evidence:

Ideally, a qualification in relevant to Highways or Transportation, or applicable experience. Knowledge of technical drawing software, e.g., AutoCAD. Awareness of legislation, design standards, and best practice related to Highways. Practical skills in delivering a variety of technical projects and assessing the quality of work done by others. Experience in managing small teams and effectively communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
