Senior Network Engineer - BGP Cisco Colo - Low Latency Investment Bank

Skills required ESSENTIAL

Routing & Switching

Cisco

Investment banking/hedge

1) BGP - routing protocol

2) Financial background - ideally some sort of investment bank/hedge.

3) Colo

4) Cisco, CCIE Routing & Switching

• This person will support an upcoming Data centre project. They have two data centres in London, with one being closed down. Hence they will be moving all services/infrastructure to the new venue.
• In addition, they will support with project work for all electronic trading systems, across UK, APAC & US. Some of it is in Colo - exchanges.

In the initial few weeks their focus will be getting them up to speed on the trading platforms and the businesses that they support eg Prime Brokerage. They will manage these services, not just operationally but project wise also for the continuation of systems.

Liaising with 3rd party vendors/carriers

Documentation & Administration

Financial Markets:

Very strong experience within financial markets

Expert knowledge of BGP and Multicast

Extensive background with low latency switching

Strong TCP/IP troubleshooting skills

Experience working in Co-location facilities

Low latency network solutions

Technical Skills:

Extensive multicast protocols, PIM, IGMP, MBGP

Cisco hardware; Nexus 3K, Nexus 9K, 6500E, 4900, 4500, 6800 series Switches

ASR series and ISR series Routers

Cisco software IOS, NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR

Ansible & Python Scripting

Arista 7000 series TAP aggregation

PTP clock time stamping

Ethernet 1G/10G/40G/100G

Extensive routing and switching experience

Protocols/Technologies: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, VRF, NAT, QOS, VPN, vPC, VXLAN,

Traffic analysis tools: Netflow, Solareflare/cStor probes and Wireshark

Cisco Wireless LAN technologies

Identity Services Engine

Adva FSP3000 and XG carrier Ethernet solutions

Zabbix & Grafana management platforms

Juniper JUNOS

Juniper EX series

ITIL and Change Management experience

This role offers hybrid working 50 % and is inside IR35 Umbrella
