Job description

A fantastic opportunity to join as a Senior Analyst Developer in the ERP technical team, responsible for the development and support of our HR and Finance applications based around the Oracle eBusiness Suite HR and Financials Management modules: Core HR, Payroll, HRSS, Learning Management, Compensation & Benefits Management, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, iProcurement, iExpenses, General Ledger, Grants etc.).

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a cross-functional Agile product team to design, develop and improve software that meets user needs and improves their experience. This role will be responsible for writing and maintaining clean, secure code and software configuration, adopting a test-driven approach, and ensuring software is easy for others to reuse.

There may also be opportunities to refactor systems integrations with more modern interfaces as the University progresses its Cloud ambitions.

You will be working closely with EBS functional subject matter experts within the team and would be expected to liaise with wider ISD colleagues in Platforms, Database and Network domains. You will also participate in knowledge transfers and peer review sessions within the team, as well as show and tells and design playbacks to the wider business community.

With a firm knowledge of the software development life cycle, you will have experience of application software design and development, including significant knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite, preferably at any point release of R12.2. You should have knowledge of ITIL support processes including release management, the ability to supervise other technical staff if necessary, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues at all levels. You should have the ability to work in a team, sharing relevant knowledge and experience.

  • Mandatory skills are Oracle RDBMS (including familiarity with EBS HR and/or Financials schemas), PL/SQL, SQL (high level) and Java (J2EE low to mid level).
  • Advantage would be given to candidates with a good understanding of any of the following: Oracle Workflow, AME, UMX, Oracle Application Framework (OAF), Application Development Framework (ADF), BI/XML Publisher, Web services (REST in particular), Internet SOA Gateway (ISG) and Oracle Forms.
  • Familiarity with Agile working practices (Scrum/SAFe Framework) and tools (JIRA) would also be beneficial.
