Job description

Single Homeless Project has an opportunity for a dynamic and detail-orientated Team Manager (female) to join our team based in London. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary starting at £34,996.44 and rising incrementally to £37,425.16 per annum.

About the Team Manager role:

As the Team Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting our frontline staff, ensuring the highest standards of trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for our residents. This position requires a balance of strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups. Working closely with the Service Manager, you ll provide day-to-day guidance and strategic support, maintaining SHP s standards and fulfilling contractual requirements.

In this role, you ll deputise for the Service Manager when needed, sharing responsibility for delivering compassionate, effective support that empowers women on their journey to recovery. A high-level understanding of the issues faced by women affected with homelessness, substance misuse, and the effects of complex trauma including violence against women and girls (VAWG) is essential. You will engage with clients across the spectrum of recovery, from those in pre-contemplation stages to those who are committed to positive change.

For occupational requirement reasons, we are seeking female applicants only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1).

About you:

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of complex issues effecting women including DV, VAWG, Mental Health, Women s Health and Substance Misuse.
  • Experience of, or a strong awareness and understanding of staff and service management and the ability to lead, motivate and develop the skills of both staff and service users, and to motivate and manage a quality service committed to achieving excellence.
  • Understanding of Housing Management and compliance, especially in relation to License Agreements, Excluded License Agreements and Assured Shorthold Tenancies.
  • Strong networking skills, and proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including those with statutory services, in order to establish or improve services to service users.
  • The ability to respond calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively, safely and creatively to complex and challenging situations. Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to the provision of service to people presenting with a varied range of needs, including substance use, mental health, dual-diagnosis, personality disorders, physical disability and learning difficulties.

Our attractive benefits package includes:

A salary increase after successfully completing six month's probationary period

  • A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am 4pm) in non-accommodation services
